Lassi is a sweet, rich, Pakistani yogurt based milkshake that’s popular in Punjab and northern Pakistan. (I’m half Punjabi 🙂 from my mom’s side so it’s like a must to know how to make these yummy concoctions) Lassi a traditional drink that’s really refreshing on a hot summer’s day…or any day really. All day err day…am I right?!
There’s usually 3 types…Sweet, Namkeen (salted) or Mango Lassi. I suppose you can make other flavors as well but these are more traditional. I’m kinda curious to see how a banana lassi would be…I remember our dad making us banana milkshakes when we were younger so this might be a fun new twist on things…
I did add the recipe for Namkeen (salted) Lassi below. The base ingredients are the same and then you switch up how much sugar/salt you add.
This is really simple and easy so I didn’t do a video. It’s literally just throwing everything into a blender and turning it on. (You can also check out the recipe for mango lassi which obviously deserved it’s own post bc…well hello…mango. But there’s a video on that one you can check out if you absolutely need it as a reference for this recipe) You can adjust the thickness by adding or taking away milk. If you like it more smoothie based keep it as it is, but if you like it more milkshakey and liquidy then add about ¼ cup- ½ cup more of milk.
