Note to self: Do you have those moments where you’re craving dessert so bad you’re willing to go out in the middle of the night just to satisfy that sweet tooth? I had one of those last night and while I was debating going on a midnight Krispy Kreme run I decided to make these instead. I guess the struggle of getting dressed and putting on a hijab totally wasn’t worth it. All you hijabi’s out there can I get an amen if you’ve been there? lol…anyways, these were super easy and simple, and while the amount of butter in this recipe might give you a heart attack it was totally worth it. I ended up making 3 right away because I couldn’t wait and then chilling the rest of the batter it in the fridge for 5 hours. It becomes more solidified after it’s chilled so definitely don’t skip that step. But if you’re not concerned about looks you can totally bake it right away. Just spread it out further away because it does spread. Also I would recommend to use a regular yellow cake mix instead of the butter yellow cake mix I used. I didn’t realize that’s even more butter.

I used this recipe from ohbiteit.com and froze the leftover cookie dough batter so whenever I want a freshly baked cookie all I have to do is take it out of the freezer and pop it into the oven. I rolled them out into little balls and stuck them inside a ziplock bag which I labeled with chocolate chip cookies and the date I made them. That way you can have homemade cookies whenever you want without having to go through the hassle of making the cookie dough from scratch each time.

Ingredients:

  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup of butter (melted)
  • 1 cup of chocolate chips

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F
  2. In a medium bowl melt 1 cup of butter
  3. Add one box of yellow cake mix and blend it evenly together
  4. Fold in the Chocolate Chips.
  5. On a parchment lined baking sheet, scoop out even sized Cookies about 1-2″ apart.
  6. Bake them at 350 for about 12-15 minutes
